Krav Maga is the official self defense and fighting system of the Israeli Defense
Forces. Krav Maga’s techniques are battlefield-tested and proven to quickly
eliminate threats. The moves are simple to perform and work powerfully with
your body’s natural instincts which makes it easy to master, even for a novice.
You’ll be fit, confident in no time! Krav Maga classes are fast paced and fun. Give
it a try; it’s the workout that could save your life!

In each class you will get your heart rate up and keep it up the whole class.
Which provides you with a great workout.

You will practice your combatives every class by actually hitting pads which
develops powerful strikes.  We don't punch and kick the air all day.

You will learn a new self defense technique every class.
Krav Maga Classes
Civilian Classes
We have both Judo classes and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Classes.

Both have a lot of the same submissions/transitions, but they are two
completely different sports.

Judo focuses on the throw, so much of class works on learning to take
someone from a standing position and put them on their back with force, then
working for a submission.

BJJ class focuses primarily on the ground game.  Working for submissions
and dominant positions.

We do not push you to gain "belt rank" but for those that want to work towards
a black belt in Judo, we can provide rank in Kodokan Judo (the Olympic sport).
Belt rank is provided through the United States Judo Association via the North
Star Judo Club which merged with Alaska Krav Maga & Fitness.

We can provide BJJ rank.  Stripes are given in house while belts are given
during seminars from BJJ black belts out of Anchorage (Gracie Barra Alaska).

Many of our instructors and members actively compete in both sports.  We
have members that have placed first at the state champions in each sport.
Judo & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
This is for all members, but you it would be good to first be at KM lvl 2 or have
attended several Muay Thai & BJJ classes before you start.

This is a light contact sparring class were people must wear head gear,
gloves, shin guards, a mouth guard and a cup (men).

This will cover striking, take downs and submissions  while adhering to MMA
rules.  Classes are well supervised and control is expected.
Intro to Sport Fighting
The Cardio MMA class is interval training.  It consists of 5 rounds (each
round is 5 minutes) with a 1 minute break in between each round.  Every
minute you change stations.  We use kettle bells, Jungle Gym XT (body
suspension system), body weight exercises and heavy bags.  It is a great
way to get in a good workout in a short amount of time.  You need some
type of MMA glove or hand wraps so you can hit the bags and still grab the
kettle bells/etc.
Cardio MMA Class
This class combines the stretching and flexability of yoga with the core
strengthening of pilates to create the perfect whole body workout. This
program is perfect for all fitness levels and can be modified to make it as
intense or as relaxed as needed for your personal goals

The No Gi grappling class is all BJJ work but without the Gi.  So you get a
chance to learn and practice submissions without help/hindrance of the Gi.
No Gi Grappling
This is open to all members.  You need boxing gloves and shin pads.  Most
of the class will be split between working some techniques and then
mitt/pad work.  The last 15 minutes of class is sparring, but only Krav lvl 2

and/or experienced people
can participate in sparring.
Muay Thai
HIIT, Morning Group Fitness
HIIT This is a Instructor led group fitness class that incorporated a variety
of core exercises in addition to kettle bells, medicine balls, slam balls,
Jungle Gym XT suspension trainers, etc.  This class will vary to keep it
interesting.  It is a great way to wake up and kick start your day.
Kids Krav Maga, Judo, BJJ classes
This is a 16 week seasonal fall/spring program for kids ages 7-13.  They
can attend all 3 Krav Maga classes each week, or mix it up with the BJJ &
Judo classes.
Open Gym
We have an "open gym" feature which allows you to come in 24/7 and hit
the heavy bags, roll on the mats or hit the weights.  We have 3 squat/bench
racks with about 800 pounds of bumper plates, plus dumb bells. We also
have stations set up so you can come in and run yourself through a circuit.
